A sad goodbye from lites.asia

For almost eight years, lites.asia has served as a forum on energy efficient lighting standards and policies for policymakers and other stakeholders involved in standards development and implementation in the Asia-Pacific region. This has included eleven regional meetings, 21 newsletters, support for regional attendance at IEC standards meetings, webinars, reports and other resources hosted on the lites.asia website. Sadly, at the end of June 2017, lites.asia in its active form will cease. The website will continue for the time being as a static site so that the information it contains remains available to interested parties.

At the end of June 2016, when the Australian aid funded United Nations Environment Programme Southeast Asia and Pacific Monitoring, Verification and Enforcement Project*, of which lites.asia at that time formed a part, completed, lites.asia regional meetings ended.  Since then, the website has been maintained directly by the Australian Government, as a resource for policymakers, and members of the network have continued to receive the lites.asia newsletter on a quarterly basis, along with periodic news alerts.

Sadly, at the end of June 2017, these activities will also cease.  The website, www.lites.asia, will continue for the time being as a static site (without updates) so that the information it contains remains available to interested parties. Occasional updates on subjects of interest may also be sent out to the newsletter distribution list.  If you do not wish to receive such updates, please email us at , with the word ‘Unsubscribe’ in the subject line.

We would like to thank you for your participation in lites.asia and hope that there may be an opportunity in the future to provide more active assistance and support. If you would like to discuss these changes, please contact David Boughey at .
