Eighth lites.asia meeting, 2-3 October 2013, Manila, Philippines

The eighth lites.asia meeting was held in Manila, Philippines on 2-3 October 2013. In addition, a special workshop was held on Friday 4 October 2013 to brief Philippine stakeholders on what lites.asia is doing and its relevance to the Philippine program, the status of energy standards and labelling in Asia and other countries, lamp waste management programs and EPR in other countries and emerging lighting technologies

The eighth lites.asia meeting was held in Manila, Philippines on 2-3 October 2013 and included:

 

  • Review and discussion on the current status of standards, labelling and supporting policy development within the region with the goal of preparing concrete proposals for action.
  • Updates on the activities of the IEC and other standards development organisations, particularly related to CFLs and LEDs.
  • A special dedicated sessions examining the development and implementation of street lighting and LED standards within the region.
  • A session looking at standards and labelling and the development and direction of the national lighting industry within the our host country the Philippines.
  • Progress reports on the lites.asia collaborative labelling display project and moves to improve compliance with labelling requirements.
  • The initiation of a review of the effectiveness of the lites.asia programme.
