In May 2017, the United Nations Environment Programme United for Efficiency initiative launched the first in a series of reports that provide guidance to policymakers on promoting energy efficient products.  The report, Accelerating the Global Adoption of Energy-Efficient Lighting, gives advice on how to promote energy efficient lighting in a national market. Two other reports in the series, covering room air conditioners and residential refrigerators are also available.  Two further reports, on electric motors and distribution transformers, and an additional overarching report, Policy Fundamentals Guide, which will provide crosscutting, general guidance critical to the establishment of a successful energy efficiency programme, will be available later in the year.
