Benchmark testing of 240 residential LED lamps collected from nine ASEAN countries is being undertaken as part of ASEAN SHINE – Lighting, a United Nations Environment Programme project. The purpose of this exercise is to gain an understanding of the quality of the LED products available in ASEAN.

240 residential LED lamps were collected from nine ASEAN countries (Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam) for an LED benchmarking exercise, funded by the Australian government, as part of ASEAN SHINE – Lighting, a United Nations Environment Programme project.  Government representatives from each country participated in selecting, procuring and packaging of the lamps for product testing.  Lamps were shipped to LEDLab in Australia, where the products are currently being tested. The purpose of this exercise is to gain an understanding of the quality of the LED products available in ASEAN.

Results from the testing will be published on the ASEAN SHINE website later in the year.
