The fith lites.asia meeting was held in Hanoi, Vietnam on 28-29 June 2012.
The workshop sought to enable invited policy makers to exchange information and plan actions to develop local, regional and international lighting energy efficiency and quality standards and policy. The workshop is supported by the Australian Government and focused on three core areas:
- Compliance: Product registration, labelling and enforcement, including regional test capacity and data sharing to improve compliance;
- Communicating with the consumer: Including consumer guidance, labelling and product equivalence to enable better product selection by consumers;
- Standards and labelling: Progress towards tropical performance parameters for LED standard, updates on recent IEC actions and other relevant updates on previous lites.asia activities.
During the sessions discussions were held to develop a list of concrete proposals for further actions at the regional and/or local levels. A more complete summary of the meeting is available here.
